FAO & things you need to know
- How long does it take to learn?
It's like learning a language so frequency & consistency of attendance are beneficial and you continue to develop over years. - Is it worth doing for a short time?
Definitely. If you put a little bit in you get a little bit out - the more the better. But in the beginning being exposed to new ideas is very beneficial and interesting. - Can I drop in?
Not for most classes inc Tai Chi. Think of it like a language class - dropping in & out doesn't really work.
A few classes are drop in friendly - they are usually clearly indicated. - Can I get a qualification?
Not really. You don't complete your study on any level. You revisit continuously and evolve constantly.
It's a lot like practicing a piece of music. - What to wear?
Dress is casual. Generally quite loose clothing.
Non-marking shoes appreciated.
'Heels' will not help you.
I don't encourage or provide uniforms! - How fit must I be?
Self care is very important in classes.
You can work to your own fitness level. If an activity is not safe for you then we have plenty of work arounds. making me aware of your limits is important.
Take care of yourself in class. - Why don't you teach teachers?
a) I don't have time to train students to that level - it's a commitment to group classes, plus one-to-one training and a lot of self practice.
b) like all professional development its expensive & intensive. I don't want to engage in that process with most students.
